Many parents are very interested in multiple vitamins and other products which can supply kids with DHA, calcium, etc. Some of them believe those products are important to kids’ health. What’s your advice on choosing these products?
Dr. Greene’s Answer:
Over the years I’ve learned to appreciate vitamins and the role they play in the healthy development of our children. I’ve seen firsthand how a mother’s vitamin intake can help a growing infant, even before she conceives. I’ve monitored the decrease in the value of the nutrients that our children digest, even when we think we’re feeding our families all the fruits and vegetables they need to stay healthy.
Some people say nutritional supplements are not necessary. They say all parents have to do is to provide a well-balanced diet for their families. We want families to make home-cooked meals, to eat veggies and fruits. But we know how hard it is for busy families to find the right balance, and we recognize that, no matter how hard parents try, our food is not what it used to be.
This year we’re excited to introduce our new line of vitamins, ones I’ve developed to specifically address nutritional needs for women before they conceive, pregnant moms and, of course, our children. As our motto states, our nutritional supplements were designed for mom, for baby, for life.
