What Adults Can Learn from Kids (and Doctors from Patients!)

Brilliant, brief TED video of a child who explains how we adults underestimate our kids. Let's be prepared to learn as much from our kids as we teach.

I love this brilliant, brief TED video of a child who explains how we adults underestimate our kids – and how we adults need more childlike thinking: audacious ideas, unbounded creativity, and a fresh sense of possibility. Parents, let’s be prepared to learn as much from our kids as we teach.

These lessons could also revolutionize health care. Watch the video, but substitute ‘doctors’ for the restrictive adults, and ‘patients’ for the kids we should be training to surpass us. Participatory Medicine is a movement in which providers listen to and value patients as full partners, and in which people take charge of their own health. Join us
