A mother from Texas inquired “My 20-month-old daughter constantly walks on her tip-toes. Should I be concerned?”
A: If your daughter's regular physicals have been normal and she is able to stand briefly with her heels down, I would relax. Toe walking often worries parents, but up until age three it is quite normal. You might gently stretch her calf muscles from time to time by pushing up on her feet, or treat her to a calf massage. And cherish those months when she bounces through life with such a spring in her step!

Tip Toe walking at age 6
My daughter is 6 years old and has been walking on her toes since she was 18-24 months old. How do I know for sure what is causing this. A neurologist told me C.P., however, from what I read it looks like Idiopathic Toe Walking to me.
Thanks,
April
