Mindy Swagel has been a social worker for 10 years and is currently a practicing Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Northern California. Following her undergraduate work at the University of California, San Diego, she obtained a master's degree in social work at the University of Southern California.

Mindy began her career working with children living with HIV in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles and has subsequently worked with both sick and well children in hospital and clinic settings, as well as with families on an obstetric ward. While working in Los Angeles, Mindy completed a post-graduate fellowship in early childhood development at a school for children with severe emotional disturbances. Recently, she completed her "training" by becoming a mother herself. In her spare time, Mindy enjoys walking, knitting, and baking.
