The Epilepsy Foundation has launched a campaign to inform parents that seizures in young children often go undiagnosed for months because they don't always display obvious signs such as convulsions. A child who falls frequently for no reason may not be clumsy, but might be having subtle seizures. A dazed stare followed by chewing or mumbling or picking at clothes might be a seizure. Over 3% of children will have a seizure before their 15th birthdays. November is National Epilepsy Month. It's a good time to take a few moments to learn the warning signals of childhood epilepsy. Early treatment can mean successful treatment.
