Thea Runyan MPH

Thea is the co-founder of Kurbo Health, the first mobile weight management program designed especially for children, teens and their parents. For the past 12 years, Thea served as the Lead Behavior Coach for the Pediatric Weight Control Program at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford, where her expertise in this field has helped over 600 kids, teens, and families manage weight and lead healthier lifestyles.

Additionally, Thea was the Wellness Coordinator for the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District managing a million dollar grant to implement a Coordinated School Health Program for a district of seven schools and 3500 students. Known as “The Stoplight Lady” Thea was able to make health a priority district-wide, create a cost-effective and sustainable PE program, and integrate a new health education curriculum.

Thea is a certified fitness instructor, yoga teacher, soccer coach, runner, and activist for healthy communities, - and her proudest accomplishment, mom to three daughters.

Thea received her BA from UC Berkeley and MPH from San Jose State University.
