Lisa Ecklund-Flores, Ph.D., is the founder and executive director of Church Street School for Music and Art, Lower Manhattan’s premiere community school for the arts for the last twenty-five years.
A lifelong educator, Dr. Ecklund-Flores holds a bachelor’s degree in music education and music therapy, as well as a teaching license in Dalcroze Eurhythmics and NYS music teacher certification. Her graduate degrees include a master’s degree in psychology and a doctorate in developmental psychology.
Dr. Ecklund-Flores is a researcher of early child development at NYS Psychiatric Institute-Columbia University, specializing in fetal and newborn response to sound. She is also a tenured professor at Mercy College. During her work as an educational consultant for the acclaimed Nickelodean show “Blue’s Clues”, she helped to conceptualize and write the popular “Blue’s Big Musical Movie”.
Dr. Ecklund-Flores has dedicated her life to the promotion of creative expression.
