One of the hardest things we have to deal with in parenthood is when we misplace our Center.
As we walk the floor rocking back and forth, comforting the little one in our arms wondering if it is time to call the doctor or if the fever will break on its own. It happens. That little core that is us is put on the shelf.
I will pick it up a bit later we tell ourselves; right now my baby needs me. But later turns into days, then months, and before we know it we forgot where we put it.
We talk about it with our friends, we search on our own and we wonder. What happened to me? Who am I? Why am I here? What is my purpose? I don’t know who I am any more. When do I get time for me?
We realize we have misplaced our Center, and even though it is still there sitting on the shelf where we last put it, no matter how hard we look we cannot see it. So we search.
