True, but...

This is true, there is no such thing as baby food. But, the problem with this logic is that we are assuming that the mothers of American know how to feed themselves. Perhaps if you look at what most moms are eating (fast food, etc) you may be mor einclined to think that prepared 'baby food' might not be so bad!

You are also selling something

Not all moms have the time or energy to make their own food for their baby. I sometimes do feed my baby off of my plate but she only has two teeth. Some food has to be broken down . There is nothing wrong with feeding my kid food from a pouch. The way the food is packaged allows them not to use any preservatives. I am all about whole grains! I fed my kid rice crereal for a week and moved onto whole grain oatmeal. Store bought! So stop sending the message to busy moms out there that they cannot find healthy choices out there ready made and they need your book. You are not doing nothing more then sending another message to mothers that the are not doing it right.

WIC food

Wic does a wonderful job providing food education and breastfeeding support. I don't understand why you need to bad mouth a program that was trying to help you with baby food. You should have prepared your own food, like the video says if you didn't like food for babies that's sold in stores. don't blame WIC, they are awsome and can only do so much.

My story

I am a mom of 6 kids, all breastfed. Sadly, with my first I didn't know any better, and bought into the hype about "baby food" and needing to give her rice cereals. After that, I realized that my babies wanted to eat what we were eating, and just fed them right off of my plate from there on out. None of the rest of my children had the so-called baby foods, but instead ate whatever the rest of the family was eating. I got all kinds of grief from my inlaws because they bought into the hype, but I stood my ground and now have 6 healthy children, who love all kinds of foods, and are not afraid to try new things.

Determined to do the right thing for my son.....

As a Mom, Shane Valentine's mom, I was determined to do things a little different then my mom, grandma, aunt, sister etc., and breast feed my son and was told by the nurses that it was not enough and they were totally against me doing so but I did not listened and for the ten day stay at this fabulous hospital in which every nurse turned their noses up at me and did not help me as a first time mom, I was determined even more to be successful at nursing my son, Shane. I very much believe and feel the same way about feeding the babies the same food as we adults eat and we did so. So that being said Shane Valentine knows exactly what he's talking about. So young mother's out there, I wish I knew or had someone back then to open up our eyes and feed the children the right kind of healthy and wholesome foods instead of the junk and processed foods. So as Shane says "Eat Well and Eat Together"!!! Maria

No Kidding

As moms, we are told we can not feed our babies successfully from the breast, we must use a bottle or at the very least suppliment (research funded by the formula company says so). We can not make baby food safely, as you've said (better buy that too). We need six doctor check ups in the first year just to make sure we aren't killing our children. You nailed it. Women can't care for children anymore, we might kill them. Thanks!!!

Love it! We really need to

Love it! We really need to change our vocabulary in this country. In the same way that we need to quit talking about throwing something "away" because there is no "away" and we need to quit talking about the benefits of breastfeeding but rather the dangers of not breastfeeding, we need to quit using the term "baby food." It's just food. Nothing more, nothing less.
