'Tis the Season for Giving!

Every year Alan and I (and DrGreene.com) give to a number of non-profit organizations. We're very involved with several of them. In fact between the two of us we sit on the board of five non-profit organizations.

Throughout the year many of our Invited Guest Bloggers here on DrGreene.com Perspectives blog also have strong non-profit ties. This year we've decided to end the year by giving some of them the opportunity to share their favorite cause with you.

Vitamin Angels
Feeding America
Food, Family, Farming Foundation
Healthy Child Healthy World
Operation Smile / Spontaneous Smiley
Allergy Kids Foundation
The Organic Center

After you read their stories, you may want to give directly, but there is another way you can lend support. Reading Robyn O'Brien's book

Reading Robyn O'Brien's book has really opened my eyes to our tainted food supply and what I can do to better care for my family. This book has changed my life and many of my friends who have also changed the foods they choose to eat. Increased awareness is the key to making a difference. Thank you!!!

I can't say enough about

I can't say enough about Healthy Child, Healthy World. I have been an advocate for years because I believe parents need to know the dangers that household chemicals pose to those precious little ones. That is exactly what Healthy Child Healthy World does...and very well, I might add.

Each one of these

Each one of these organizations is worthy supporting...I find it difficult to have to choose and believe each should be rewarded financially and be supported by all of us! As a mother of 3, one with severe allergies, and someone who spends a lot of time advocating for safer food, I personally have connected to Robyn O'Brien's work and I do believe that our eating habits and attitudes are ultimately connected to healthier people, and a healthier world. Go Allergy Kids Fouondation Go! If our kids could talk, they would tell us to do something!! Take Action!

I am a huge fan of

I am a huge fan of AllergyKids! How extremely significant the work is to alert families to the hidden toxins in our food supply - especially impactful to children's developing bodies. We all know that the rate of autism, allergies, ADHD, diabetes, obesity and cancer are rising rapidly in young children. And it is not a stretch to realize food is a major culprit. In The Unhealthy Truth: How Our Food Is Making Us Sick and What We Can Do About It, Robyn tells the disturbing truth about what the politics of big business and a willing government can do to serve up genetically modified, chemical laden food and use our children and ourselves as unsuspecting guinea pigs. It is so vital for the work of AllergyKids to reach all families in this country and by so doing encourage us all to stand up and say enough. We deserve the same quality of food that children in Europe, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Russia and Japan receive. I applaud the courage and commitment of Robyn and AllergyKids Foundation to help bring change.

I vote for Allergy Kids. To

I vote for Allergy Kids. To me there is nothing more important than our children. Since the early 90's our children have been subject to increased vaccinations and our ever changing food supply with untested genetically modified foods. Our children are paying the price with increases in allergies, asthma, ADHD, Autism, cancers, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. etc. Robyn at AllergyKids has found the courage to stand up to the Big Pharma, Big Agri, and Big Chemical interests and tell the truth. Allergykids has saved lives and as the truth spreads more lives will be saved.

What a wonderful Christmas

What a wonderful Christmas gift! While I love, love, love Healthy Child Healthy World, I was also deeply touched by the Feeding America presentation showing children starving in our own country and I felt desparate to help. So I have to cast my vote for them this time. Thank you, Dr. Greene!
