Take Advantage of Resources

Tip #7:

If you know what you want to cook, it’s really easy to find great recipes online by doing a simple search. But what if you don’t know?

Besides a “fallback menu” I have a series of resources that I fallback on to get new ideas or just to remind me about recipes I’ve used in that past that should be repeated:

Favorite Recipe Books:

Your Organic Kitchen by Jesse Ziff Cool (her Rosemary-Lemon Biscuits are our favorite)

Real Food Daily Cookbook by Ann Gentry (amazing recipes using really interesting ingredients)

Laurel's Kitchen by Laurel Robertson, Carol Flinders, and Brian Ruppenthal (we use their Tomato Sauce for our Christmas Pizza sauce recipe)

Food to Live By, by Myra Goodman with Linda Holland and Pamela McKinstry (the Stir-Fried Tofu is fabulous, though I do add a few red pepper flakes to this one)

How To Cook Everything: Simple Recipes for Great Food by Mark Bittman (we also love his cooking show!)

Favorite Recipe Sites:

New York Times Recipes for Health  presented thematically by ingredient

Mom-a-licious.com  for family friendly easy-to-make recipes

PureStyleLiving.com  Healthy, organic, and fun recipes

(Sunday brunch in our backyard. Savory Bread Pudding recipe from "Food to Live By".)

Do you have a favorite recipe book or site you could share? We’d all love to know about it!
