I became a mom seven years ago. I couldn’t have been happier except for the fact that I was distraught at the idea of having to go back to work full time.

I loved working in the fitness industry but didn’t want someone else raising my baby. I was disappointed that there weren’t career opportunities that were supportive of motherhood.

During my maternity leave, I created a workout that I could do with Jacob (my son) as I didn’t want to spend a moment away from him. It was our best hour of the day.

The only problem was that I was overwhelmed with questions about motherhood. So, I created a class with other new moms. I knew I could help them get back in shape and they could help me with all the questions I had about sleep, nursing, etc.

I guess I wasn’t the only one looking to get back in shape and meet other new moms because my classes took off. Before long, I turned it in to a business. We are now the 17th fastest growing franchise with over 800 locations across the country.

It’s been a feel good business to share career opportunities with other new moms. But beyond that, I have felt blessed to inspire moms to be healthy role models for their children.

They are never too young. These babies listen and absorb our every word and action. I think that may be part of the success of the business.

What we won’t do for ourselves, we’ll do for our children.
