There aren't many board games you can play with 2 to 12 people. Sequence is one of those rare games and one of our family favorites. We bought the original version and played it with our kids. We loved it so much that we bought the jumbo version and took it to the Grandparents at the holidays and played it with the extended family.
In turn each player matches a card from his or her hand to a square on the board. A poker chip in the player's color is placed over the square on the board that corresponds with the card he or she has just played. The goal is to get five in a row to form a sequence. Of course the other players not only try to form their own sequences, but they try to stop you at the same time. The game board is set up very cleverly encouraging pattern recognition, strategy, and smart game play. There's just enough luck to make it fun for ages 7 and up.
