Last year a close friend recommended the Flip Video Camera. He said he owed a full size video camera, but just didn't use it. He bought a Flip to take those on-the-fly videos of his kids in hopes that it would enable him to capture those precious family moments that are racing by. He recommended it for ease of shooting and uploading videos (USB -- no cables!). The drawback was on the quality side, but well worth it to "capture the moment".

We bought one for about $115 and found it to be really easy to use. We enjoyed the videos. We used it on a rainy day. I strongly recommend that you don't do that last part.

As you can guess we're now considering purchasing another point and shoot video camera. Enter the FlipHD. Pricey in comparison, but HD for $229 is really amazing.

I wish there was an underwater case for the HD model. Perhaps it will come out soon. But if you already own the Flip Ultra, go for the $36 Underwater Case and enjoy shooting in the rain!
