ProBar High Performance Whole Food Nutrition Bars

As a marathoner, I’m always looking for the best tasting, most healthful nutrition bars that I can throw into my bag when I train on the go. Some of my favorites have no more nutrition than a bag of M&Ms, and some of the healthy ones taste like a forest floor. And then there are the one-bite wonders… hardly satisfying after a 15 mile run.

But the other day my boyfriend came back from a cycling camp with sample ProBar High Performance Whole Food Nutrition Bars. I am in love. They’re made with whole, organic, raw foods, and yum! They’re rich, hearty, delicious and filling.

My first one was the Koka-Moka, but I stole a bite of my boyfriend’s Maple Pecan. Amazing. I’m dying to try the Cherry Pretzel with whole Bing cherries and dark chocolate. And the Cocoa Pistachio just won accolades as the hottest new vegetarian product from VegNews (all the bars are vegan as well).

The only warning (besides “You’ll love them too much!”) is that they do pack a calorie punch. Each as much as 300 calories and could easily be considered a complete meal replacement, not just an afternoon snack. But if you’re expending some energy, they’re a tasty way to replace the calories you’re burning.
