How to Cook Everything: Simple Recipes for Great Food

At the Greene household, we love Mark Bittman. He’s a columnist for The New York Times, a regular on the “Today” show and shows up on public television in several series.

He says he’s not a chef and has never had any formal training (hasn’t even worked in a restaurant), but that makes him even better – because he’s an engaged home cook, just like we are! Our son Austin (13) is a faithful viewer!

What we love about his book is that it’s full of so many ideas! He gives you the basic info to “cook everything,” then lets you add your own touches.

I also like that he lists his favorite cooking tools. Plus you can’t get many more recipes for the pound than this book…. For the money you get 944 info-rich pages.
