The author of this beautiful cookbook, Jesse Ziff Cool, is the chef of three restaurants near Stanford, where Dr. Greene is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics for the School of Medicine. We got to know her as we discovered her meals made with fresh, seasonal organic food.
Jesse has a lot of cookbooks, and this one is rich with color pictures of the most beautiful dishes. When you flip through the pages, you are inspired to cook because the pages are just so beautiful you think. “I want that!”
Her recipes are creative, inventive and not too difficult for those of us without an official chef’s hat. The Rosemary-Lemon Biscuits are our favorite, and there are so many others I want to try, like Gorgonzola Potatoes and Peas, or Curry Carrot Soup with Wasabi Cream. And if you make the Cherry Cheese Pudding, save me a bite.
