Do you really need to heat (or cool) your guest bathroom? What about your laundry room? It may be nice when you're actually in those rarely used rooms to have them at a comfortable temperature, but is it worth it to heat (or cool) them 24/7?

I just found a solution to save energy and money -- Magnetic Vent Covers! The covers are large magnetic sheets that cling to the grate. They are easy to put on and take off, so if you're going to be using a room you can still enjoy temperature comfort, but when you're not using them, the covers cut down on your heating and cool bills.

I put one in the laundry room and another in the guest bath, and I honestly haven't lifted them up since -- I just don't need a toasty room to do laundry in! And who needs the temperature to be perfect in the guest bath at all times? (In other words, no need to encourage teenagers to hang out there.) :-)
