This beautiful book (and DVD) puts chocolate in the proper perspective -- heavenly! Author and archeologist Meredith Dreiss* and co-author Sharon Edgar Greenhill do an excellent job taking scientific information and putting it into language that is available to non-scientists without dumbing down. The photos are gorgeous and the history is really enjoyable. I recommend this book, a box of fine chocolate, and a bottle of good red wine for valentines day or any day
Chocolate: Pathway to the Gods is available online at Amazon.com
*Note: Meredith Dreiss is also a philanthropist in the area of global sustainability. I am lucky to know her personally and to be part of a group that has received funding from the foundation she leads. Neither her foundation nor the group I belong to have anything to do with chocolate apart from enjoying it from time-to-time during our meetings.

How did I miss this?
I was just perusing the Product Reviews to see if I could find a recommendation for a cookbook, and I saw this one.
How in the world did I miss it the first time?
Guess anything with the word "chocolate" in it is catching my eye today. Have anything that centers on "cupcake"?

Sorry ...
No cookbook on cupcakes to recommend, I'm afraid. But I do have a new cookbook to recommend. Watch for it next week :)
