There is a great new product available called SafetyTats that are Quick-Stick Write-on Tattoo Stickers for your children to wear when they go on outings. There are also SafetyTats with Allergy Information so your child's food allergies are visible when he/she attends a party or event without you.
They have tattoos for contact information, food allergies, and more. This product is for all the parents, daycare providers, teachers, and daycare centers that take children to a busy event or crowded place. As a mom of 3 very busy boys, I know how important it is to be prepared for any situation. These temporary tattoos can last up to 2 weeks and do not come off in water. The SafetyTats can be customized with your mobile phone number or left blank so you can write in a number with a waterproof pen. I would recommend these to every parent, grandparent and caregiver to keep on hand or in your car. They work very well and make end up keeping your child safe if he/she is lost or has a food allergy.
Have you ever lost your child, even for a second when they hide under the clothes rack at the store, or realize they have freedom and try to run away from you at the store? When my children first turned 2 or 3 I remember those things happening a few times. I remember my blood pressure rising and the panic setting in. But of course, I was running right after my children, and had them safely back with me in 5 seconds. But I have had an even scarier situation happen to me that could have ended badly, but thankfully it did not.
My husband and I took our 3 boys who were 6,4,1 to the Children's Museum in Baltimore, MD. It is 3 stories, and enormous. I took my 1 year old to play in the room for toddlers and my husband went to an exhibit with our two older sons.
I went to look for my husband and older boys and when I found my husband he had just come out of a mystery exhibit and was only with our 6 year old. He immediately told me that our 4 year old went into a tube with his 6 year old brother, he saw them go in and other kids go in after them so he went to the end of the tube to meet them and our son did not come out. So my husband went to the other end of the tube and crawled into the tube. The tube is fairly small for big adults to fit and that is why my husband did not go in with our boys in the first place. He was not in the tube and he was not in any of the rooms of the exhibit.
I wanted to scream and panic all in 1 second. So we made a plan, he would stay at the exhibit and look for our son, I would go down to look around the middle exhibit, which is a big 3 story climbing adventure, and to look downstairs. My plan was to go directly to security if I did not see him on my way down. My husband and I both had cell phones to stay in touch with each other. I was feeling so overwhelmed, but fortunately when I reached the 2nd floor I spotted my son all the way down on the first floor. And we were able to safely reach our son.
