Naturepedic No-Compromise™ Organic Cotton Crib Mattress

productreviews-mattress.jpg

A cotton mattress is at the TOP of Dr. Greene’s essential list of must-have products for baby. Baby spends hours every day with his face against his crib mattress, and conventional crib mattresses are made with PVC, filled with polyurethane foam and treated with toxic fire-retardant chemicals.

There are no standards for organic crib mattresses, but Naturepedic is really doing it right! Parents can rest assured that the basic model (or the more luxury models) are safe for their little ones from infant to school-age kids.

As with many of our favorite products, we know the owners of this company. The founder is an environmental engineer and a really impressive entrepreneur. When one of his children was expecting, his role as grandpa was to buy the crib and mattress. He started shopping and found out what was actually in mattresses, and there was not one mattress on the market that he wanted his grandchild to sleep on. So he created Naturepedic mattresses so that parents have a choice about where they want their kids to lay their heads.

Mattress Review

The Naturepedic No-Compromise Organic is a great mattress! I have used it for two years with my daughter and do not have a single complaint.

I certainly don't want my child on a mattress treated with toxic chemcials, but if it is not fire-retardant isn't that more dangerous? Not sure how a cotton mattress protects from fire. Thanks.

These mattresses meet all

These mattresses meet all flammability requirements using baking soda and hydrated silica- natural minerals- without the use of harmful chemicals.
