Ever think you’ve got life figured out then something comes along and changes the rules? Welcome to the theme of Fluxx, another of the Greene family games I love to share.

The rules are simple, and it takes about a minute to jump right in. You take a card and play a card, but the card you play can change the rules. The next thing you know you will be taking 4 cards and playing everything in your hand, or swapping hands with another player.

I love the variations: Zombie Fluxx, Monty Python Fluxx, Family Fluxx. And there’s my favorite: Eco-Fluxx (we have them all!).

It takes about 30 minutes to complete a game for 2-6 players. I love it because people who don’t like to lose (isn’t this everybody?) can justify a loss – how can you build a winning strategy when the rules can change at any time? Oh, and it’s also a Mensa Select award winner, so you know it’s a great game.
