What my pediatrician said and what I've read is that beer, especially dark beer aids in breast milk production. Generally, dark beers like stouts have less alcohol than a glass of wine. The nutrients in the beer are what aids in the production.
I feel that this study is misleading because it addresses the effect alcohol alone has on production. If the study were done with the subjects drinking beer, it would give us more information.
When a toddler or preschooler is still using a bottle to go to sleep, this choice has become a deeply ingrained habit.
