I realize this is an old post but thought my info could help others reading it. My baby also had a very bad case of this- his face was all scabby and it looked painful. my dr said to keep it clean and dry and to use hydro cortisone ointment as the cream could burn, and a thin layer of Aquaphore. I found it minimally helpful, and became desperate. I started to use my face wash and lotion as it was organic and cleared my face up when i was pregnant and nothing else worked. It is called Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean™ Face Wash - Original Oily and Combination Skin. It has tea tree oil in it. as long as I wash/lotion his face once a day he stays clear. If I get lazy or forget I can tell he starts to break out again. Don't use the cleaning pads as they burn a bit. I also put just a little Aquaphore on as a protecting layer or on dry spots. This combination works like magic!
