Through her various roles as an ICU nurse, mother of three, yoga instructor and author, Elizabeth Irvine has developed a keen sense of how to bring peace into her life and the lives of those around her. The perfect antidote to the ever evolving speed of modern life, the idea is simple but ever challenging: finding peace—in the midst of motherhood, even in the middle of our crazy world.
With twenty-five years’ experience as a health care professional, Beth has become a translator, interpreting from one health system “language” to another. Speaking and respecting the language of complementary medicine—such as ayurveda, acupuncture, homeopathy—and of conventional medicine, she fuses modern technology with thousands of years of natural wisdom. Her goal is to reach beyond the boundaries of our current use of conventional medicine as a quick fix and reclaim the wisdom which lies dormant in our own bodies-- creating wellness and preventing illness before it occurs. Beth believes that by building emotional and physical capacity and nurturing our connection to the world, we can create a healthier, happier way of being from the inside out and take on life's inevitable challenges with grace.
The award-winning author of Healthy Mother Healthy Child: Creating Healthy Balance Everyday and the forthcoming Healthy Mother Healthy Child: Creating Whole Families from the Inside Out and A Moment’s Peace: Creating Calm Amidst Chaos, Beth is a public speaker and media spokesperson for healthy living. Dedicated to teaching mothers (and everyone else) practical ways to build healthier lifestyles, she draws on twenty-five years of healthcare experience in addition to the complementary medical techniques she learned to create wellness in her own family's life. She is a contributor to the national websites first30days.com, momcentral.com, realsavvymom.com, and healthcentral.com, reaching millions of viewers with her collected wisdom on a regular basis. She appears regularly on television, and her weekly web-based podcast, with 3.3 million listeners, has been singled-out for “making a difference in peoples’ lives” and is consistently rated in the top ten parent podcasts. Beth is currently working on a book for brides on how to create a stress-free wedding as the first step in a peaceful marriage, to be published in 2010 by Bright Sky Press.
