White Patches on Skin

Hi Dr Greene, my baby is 5 months old and he is always scratching the skin around his eyes. A general practitioner prescribed an ointment with Econazole Nitrate 10mg (1%) and Triamcinolone Acetonide 1mg (0.1%) as ingredients. This has caused the skin to be whitish and dry. Now he has 5 white patches on his face and he is dark-skinned! What can I do to repair this damage? Can it be repaired at all? Please help.
