My four year old daughter is still not potty trained. She has had many struggles with this process.
We began when she was little over 2 and she would successfully go poop in the potty, but not pee. Then she reverted completely after having an accident at a friends house (when the mommy of her friend got upset with her for peeing on the floor). So we attempted again when she was a little over 3. She then would go pee in the potty, and not poop. Now here we are a month away from her turning 4 and she is still not trained.
She seems to do "ok" with going pee in the potty. She still has accidents but I noticed it's mostly when she needs to poop that the pee accidents happen. With the pooping she will hold it in as much as she can (even if she is wearing a diaper). It is like she just doesn't want to let it come out. She does not have hard stool and has never complained about it hurting, so I know it is not that (I've also given her Miralax to help soften even more). She's even peed on the potty a couple times and cried about it because she just "didn't WANT the pee to come out". So it's almost like she just doesn't want these bodily functions to happen at all?? Or she wants to control them??
I tell her I will put her back in diapers and then (depending on the day) she tells me she promises to go in the potty, or she'll be completely fine with being in diapers. I'm tired of going back and forth with her. I just want to either have her potty trained or have her in diapers. Please help!
