My husband I learned yesterday that our 4 year old son and his best buddy scratched the face of the smallest kid in preschool. The scratch bled and the child was sent home. We are mortified. We have always taught empathy and are shocked he would do this. He is big for his age and we want him to use his size to do good. We took away videos and DVDs and he offered to give the boy one of his dress-up costumes. We will also write a note to the parents, who I imagine are furious (I would be). What else should we do? I want to nip this right now and hate the thought of this other child being afraid of my son!
