My son is 3 and half he is experiencing horrible pains in both legs in the morning not at night or during the day, He gets tired of walking a lot(may just be lazy)but he is a very active boy who climbs a lot and is generally very happy and healthy.
These pains do not occur every morning but 3/4out of 7days a week. It lasts for up to an hour but can wake him earlier in the morning and lasts longer.once I've helped him move them around and massaged them he feels better but if I don't do this he cannot walk un-aided and just lays on the floor crying.
My gp said it was growing pains but it seems to be more frequent and he is very distressed by it...Could there possibly be any other explanations???
Muscles don't appear cramped or swollen. we do stretches and excercise, soothe his pain with wheat bags and massage...Panadol to help prevent them but nothing seems to be helping

Try giving him bananas to eat
Try giving him bananas to eat throughout the day. Two or three a day would be good if you can get him to eat that many. Bananas are a great source of potassium, and a deficiency can cause leg cramps.
