Ringworm is very common in

Ringworm is very common in kids - by some estimates, up to 1 in 5 have a patch at any given time.

The classic ringworm rash starts as a dry, slightly raised, mostly round patch, which may be slightly red. The patch may also be somewhat itchy. As it grows, the center of the patch often clears, leaving a ring-like appearance. Not all children develop this central clearing. In fact, the appearance can vary a lot from child to child. In some kids it's easy to confuse with a patch of eczema.

I'm a fan, Almelis, of having someone take a look who can tell you what it is, because the different possibilities are handled differently.

If it were ringworm, this isn't a worm but a fungal infection kinda like athlete's foot. You can learn more about how to recognize and treat ringworm here: http://www.drgreene.com/azguide/ringworm
