My son is going to be two in april. I have a question if he bangs his head majority of the day and majority of the night can that mean he has autism? He bangs his head and rocks all day and most of the night unless he is playing toys. can anyone help me?

The head banging does not

The head banging does not necessarily indicate that your son has autism. Concerning Autism, here are some things to look for: Does your son look at things you are looking at? Does you son point at things both to show you or just to indicate interest? Does your son make any hand movements near his face? Does he play appropriate with toys without just fiddling with them, mouthing them, or dropping them? It is probably best if you get in touch with your physician to express your concern, or seek out your state's Early Intervention Program. They are usually affiliated with the Health Department or the Schools and can provide you with free evaluation and free services.
