Is Goat's milk a safe alternative?

Hello, my daughter, who is now 7 weeks old and has been exclusively breast fed, recently became very fussy in the evenings. We read quite a bit about colic and on our pediatrician's urging have started our daughter on a probiotic containing Lactobacillus Reuteri and have cut cow's milk from our diet. It was our understanding that Goat & Sheep's milk/products were still ok to consume, but recently learned that even Goat's milk contains Lactose and Casein, albeit in smaller quantities than Cow's milk. What is your opinion on the consumption of Goat/Sheep's milk and do you believe that it is a suitable alternative to Cow's milk for nursing mothers with colicky children? Thanks so much!
