Fever, no sweating

Hello, my son that is now 2 years old has been having unexplained fevers since he was a baby. His fevers go as high as 104.3 but he never sweats. I take him in to be evalutated and the doctors can never find anything wrong so they just send me home. I'm becoming frustrated since there's no end to this. Cancer runs in my family and it scares me that he may have a form of cancer. I do know that my first cousin was diagnosed as a toddler with leukemia-although his has been in remission for years now and he's 19years old. I was told he was doing the same thing my son has been doing and they were told the same thing everytime too until they ask for a specialist. This whole thing scares me that he spikes fevers, never sweats (except for at night & that was only twice), hardly eats, sleeps a lot (but is active when he is awake), and when he gets hot or over-exerts himself he coughs. What could possibly be causing all of this?
