My daughter has a flu which has lasted now 8 days. The symptoms started last Tuesday with a cough and high fever, which I kept back with Tylenol. The day before we went to see a dr. about her cut finger (craft scissors). Since we don't vaccinate he recommended strongly we get the Tetanus shot. I took her to get the shot (concerned) and they only had the quad which is tetanus/polio/pertussis/diptheria which she was given. Not sure if this plays into it. This virus is going around. It seemed like the fever left on Wednesday. She continued to cough and was lethargic on Wed. and Thurs. Friday afternoon she started to shake a bit and looked quite ill. The fever returned. That night there was some hallucinations. I went to the Dr. the next day and she actually seemed better. Again the fever returned and we continued to give Advil and Tylenol. Yesterday I was at the Dr.'s again. Just advised to ride it out and give medication and watching for unresponsiveness etc. Her temp. was almost normal last night and this morning but then late morning it started climbing again. She has been thirsty more than usual. Her appetite has not been good. We reached 40.1 Celsius a couple of times now. This has been an emotional rollercoaster ride seeing my girl like this. I will take her to the clinic tomorrow if this continues. I've also held off from Tylenol and Advil. She dislikes it and we've gone through almost a bottle of each this past week.
