Hi Dr Greene, my 4 year old boy was running around and kicking a ball 2 days ago when he came to me saying he's got "pain in his chest". I was concerned and asked him to point out the pain. He did not point to his chest per se, but rather the area just below the sternum and flanked by the upper ribs. He said the pain was over the area and not in a specific spot. The pain wasn't very painful and it left as he stood there showing me where the pain was. He went back to running around and kicking his ball with no further complaints. Should I be concerned as the "chest pain" was brought on by his running around? His paed told me to leave it and only see a cardiac consultant if it was a recurrent pain (and not once off like it was). I am however still concerned.. pls help..

if it was cold outside it
if it was cold outside it could be some bronchial issues but if thats not the case and he isn't sick and your docter turned you away then i would do this,,, find another docter and take him to them for a second opinion, your other docter will never have to know, its always good to get a second opinion like that,, and sooner than later
