breast cancer

Hi, I will thank if you can advise me, last week w e received the notice that our 14 years old daughter has an invasive carcinoma in her left breast; she is in the process of new analysis to find out exact diagnosis. Is it possible that a 14 years old girl can develop breast cancer? Can it be a wrong diagnosis? Or can it be confusion with other disease? Please advise me we are having a bad time with all this. What an emotionally loaded

What an emotionally loaded time you must have had. I wish you hadn't been put through that, but so glad the outcome was a good one. All the best, Cheryl

Pablo, I'm so sorry for what

Pablo, I'm so sorry for what you and your family are going through. I still remember vividly the day my wife was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer.

Although it's pretty rare, it is possible for a 14-year-old to have an invasive carcinoma of the breast; it's also possible for there to be a mistake or confusion in diagnosis.

I'm glad your daughter is having a new analysis to confirm and pinpoint the diagnosis. It's one of the first things I recommend. I also recommend working with a major academic medical center with expertise in this area. Working with a great team makes a big difference.

My best (and my wife's) to you and your family as you navigate your way through this.
