Bi-lateral hydronephrosis

HELP!! My son now 14, was diagnosed pre-natally with bi-lateral hydronephrosis, he was born early at 34 weeks with a weight of almost 8lb. However my concern is that he had a needle inserted into his kidneys twice while I was carrying him to drain urine (a bit like an amnio needle that went through me) Now I have been told this is not done any more and I wonder why? I also wonder what kind of monitoring he should have had, all he has is height, weight, and urine dip tested each time he goes to clkinic, a few times they have done BP and three times taken blood. He had an U/S before christmas which showed both kidneys hugely nephrosed agin, and both ureters. Nothing has been done as yet, he has had GF'Rs done which show a decline and DMSA , which they have not reported the results of, and have spoken about bicarbonate, this was allin November. My son and myself are out of our mind with worry, every time I try to get hold of the consultant, she is either in another hosp, or on A/L she has my work and home no but never phones. Short of doing something realy stupid to get noticed and get some answers I am really stuck. Please help. Tee
