My youngest son (almost 2) developed what looked to be bug bites all over his arms and legs. Within 30 mins they had swollen to a size of the bottom of a plastic cup. Within 1 hour, they were the size of the top of the cup, if not bigger! After some children's benedryl and ibprofin, the swelling and "marks" COMPLETELY went away, within an hour or less. I did not believe they were bug bites as 3 popped up on his face while I bathed him.
The only not so common thing that he ate right when I noticed them are almonds. I'm not sure if almonds pass through breastmilk but I ate akmnonds daily while I breastfed him (over a year) and he never had an issue.
This morning, my oldest woke up with 3 on his face, same exact spots! I immediately gave him benedryl and it went away. I can't recall if he has ever had almonds though. I have pictures. The worst one was the one on his thigh. Went from being 2 in in diameter, to taking over his whole thigh.
I'd take him to the doc, but the benedryl completely cleared him up.
