Very informative! My children are patients of Dr. Greene's. I enjoy the web page because it gives Dr. Greene an opportunity to relay detailed information in a forum where the parent can spend more time assimilating it -- unlike the office where the children are often in a rush to get out! Thank you very much for the service and for providing such detailed info. Many doctors don't realize how much parents want to be informed about all options so we can make intelligent decisions about our children's care. We feel fortunate to have Dr. Greene as our pediatrician and think it's great that now others will have his thoughtful and caring advice to follow.

Somehow the words "thank you" are not enough to express how I feel. After reviewing your answer from June 10th [on craniosynostosis], I contacted The Academy of Pediatrics, which I previously knew nothing about. Then I took the contact info to my sister. My sister contacted the AAP. After a lengthy phone call, she sent cat scans, x rays, and other medical info.
Within two days she was contacted by Dr. John Brooks. After some discussions he decided that he would like to make Nathen (my nephew) part of his case study.
My sister has been very frustrated for months. To hear the joy in her voice last night . . . and I could feel the relief in her voice. Again thank you for your help in finding someone who is a specialist with this problem. It makes all the difference.

I believe Dr. Greene's web site is very innovative and highly useful. Dr. Greene is quite generous to offer the time and effort to answer so many diverse and complex questions. Kudos for this site!

This is the first time that I've spent any amount of time on your web page, and I am very impressed. This is the type of service that I believe the Internet/WWW should be modeled after. Thanks!!!

I received information on toxoplasmosis . . . thanks! It was much more thorough than that which we have already received. Very exciting to have a doctor at your fingertips :-)) . . . Great idea!!!

Some friends of ours just had a baby, and they've been agonizing over whether to have him circumcised. I immediately went to HouseCalls, searched on "circumcision," and found a useful and thorough article on the subject (4/29/96) ... I'm getting hooked on the HouseCalls page! At first I was just checking in now and again to see if there were any format changes. Now I find myself reading the new questions daily. The information is very helpful. Thanks!

The article was terrific -- the best authored one of the lot. Really outlined the causes, symptoms, risks and intervention well. I feel much more informed and will know what to look for in my 1-year-old, who was playing with 2 kids with RSV at daycare. You're on my bookmark, now.

This website has been a very educational experience for both my wife and me. It is as close to a doctor's visit as one can get. All the answers one needs and no waiting rooms full of sick coughing patients.

I consider this site a valuable resource for both my parenting needs and the medical needs of my daughter. Often the questions and answers you provide are the very ones that I haven't had the time to ask my provider or have slipped my mind when I enter his office. My daughter was born premature with a raging group B strep infection. She now has asthma and allergies, and I've found your site to be informative without being overbearing or preachy.

I have just recently discovered this page, and I am very impressed with Dr. Greene's credentials and his answers - in particular the response he gave for what to do when your child (4-year- old) does not listen to you and ignores you. I agree completely and have done his "bi-empathic" theory with my 6 year old...it works...It seems most children of all ages like to be in control of their own environment and challenge otherwise....

I think that you are a very caring and insightful person. I always read everything you write -- you give so much of yourself, and make us mommys feel better. Thank you, Dr. Greene, for this wonderful web site!

I love your web page; I truly think it's the best. Please don't ever quit!! It's good to be able to see others'questions and learn from them. It is also good to be able to turn to someone with common sense, like you, to answer the little concerns one may have but not have time to discuss with one's own pediatrician.

It offers comfort and peace of mind to find someone who takes out so much of his precious time to give to complete strangers. You may never see our faces, but do know, you've touched our hearts!!

Dr. Greene: I am a nursing student at University of Texas, and this semester two of my courses had Internet assignments. I discovered your site in the process of completing one of those assignments, and what a discovery! I have so enjoyed reading and exploring your site, which is enlightening, innovative, and fun! Though my own children are grown, I can certainly use the information as a nurse. Thanks.

On my first visit I found the answer to all my questions about DDAVP and Secondary enuresis (even how to spell it correctly) Thank you so much. Now I can rest easier about the person in the family who needs to use it.

I just found your web page today and am most impressed. It is hard to find any material on pediatrics. Your service provides information good for both practitioners and the general public. I will recommend this to my colleagues.

I have been an RN for 30 years, but pediatrics is relatively new to me. I work in an office with 6 wonderful pediatricians. I am learning new things on a daily basis and have found Dr. Greene's HouseCalls to be a wonderful learning tool. I tell our patients about primary care pediatrics and Dr. Greene's HouseCalls most frequently. God bless you!

My two-year-old and 5-month-old girls are patients at Dr. Greene's office. The staff of physicians at ABC Pediatrics have demonstrated utmost care to us, through the routine ear infections as well as the not-so-routine episodes of jaundice, bronchitis, etc. As I read Dr. Greene's HouseCalls, I am amazed at the consistent quality of care shown, whether in their office or on the web. As a medical professional, I appreciate that your answers are well-researched, thorough and always scientifically supported. As a mother, I appreciate that you are encouraging, uplifting and sympathetic! I have always recommended your practice to friends and co-workers and now will highly recommend this website. Thank you for your labor of love to us and to our children.

We read many of your achives and found them very informative and sometimes amusing (tho' I am sure they are not to the patients that are afflicted). All in all a really nice web presence -- something which seems to be a rarity lately.

I would just like to thank you for setting my mind at ease. My seven-month-old son just blessed us by getting roseola. Reading the article to the expectant mother who had been exposed to the virus was very informative and really answered many questions I had about the disease and its process. I'm sure his spots will be gone soon, and I feel I have less to worry about, being more informed. Thanks again.

I think this website is absolutely wonderful. I've been in childcare as a teacher, and I have previously worked as a nanny. I wish I had been able to access this then. Now that I am an aunt and a stepmother, I'm glad to know I can hop on the net and find good solid advice that I can trust.

Dear Dr. Greene, I must first comment on the wonderful job that you have done with this website! Your genuine care and concern really shine through! I have learned so much about ear infections. I've read answers to my questions that I wasn't able to get from my pediatrician. I also appreciated your comment on homeopathic medicine and ear infections. I can't tell you how refreshing it is to have an M.D. who is open to, and has knowledge of something else besides conventional western medicine! Can you recommend a pediatrician here in Hawaii as competent, caring, patient, able to explain and express themselves, and up-to-date on various subjects in the medical field as you? Thank you.

I would just like to comment that I am an RN who reads this site regularly. I find Dr. Greene's answers extremely well written, especially for the lay person. This is a very interesting and informative site. Keep up the excellent work, and thank you.

Dr. Greene's moving and tender response to Melissa made me cry. As a parent, I certainly value his medical expertise. As a person, I am surprised and touched by his sensitivity and concern. What a blessing to find a doctor with such knowledge, and a person with such empathy. Thank you.

I access this site quite regularly, and I was shocked to read about the honey story. My son, now almost three, was given a honey-covered pacifier several times when he was a baby on the advice of an old auntie. I never realized that I could have been doing him more harm than good. That is one reason why this website is so necessary. Keep up the excellent work.

Dr. Greene, I hope this e-mail makes it to you. I had to write to say thank you.
THANK YOU!!
My son is eight months old, and I have not had a full night's sleep since the day he was born. He is usually up a minimum of 4 times a night, and it is not uncommon for him to awake every hour. My pediatrician's answer was to leave him to cry it out. I tried this with much guilt and no sleep (who could sleep through his screaming?). I allowed him to cry for an hour one night, and he did fall asleep, but awoke again an hour later and the next day clung to me as if he thought I had abandoned him.
I stumbled across your page by accident, but stopped to read your suggestions on sleep. Thank you so very much!! Words are not enough!! I followed your suggestions of laying him back down and keeping him there. It took only two 15-minute episodes the first night and none after that. He still wakes during the night, but is down to twice a night, but when I lay him back down....he goes to sleep!!! Many, many thanks,
Paul and Nancy Hillen

P.S. We are not new parents who are naive and feel guilt easily....this is our third child.
I checked out your new project linking individuals to pediatric information via the Web. In short, it's great. Your site is well laid out, simple and intuitive. I especially like the find function. I typed in SIDS and ear infections and a number of others and got an answer in less than 2 seconds . . . the next time we find an appropriate connection to something we're doing, well, I have it on the short list.

Excellent! Quite impressive. In this day of managed medicine, where doctor visits are sometimes too brief, it's so nice to see a physician who is making himself accessible to the "average" person. Being a new mom myself, I can tell you that it is quite a comfort to know that I can ask questions of someone who is a pro. Thank you!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I cannot thank you enough!!! I have been so frustrated trying to find information about my daughter's hair disease (trichorrhexis nodosa and trichorrhexis invaginata). I was beginning to wonder if it was something so rare that nobody knew anything about it. Dr. Greene, your response to my questions were so thorough. I am truly impressed!! It is a relief to finally get the information I was looking for in the terms that I can understand. I can now have some peace of mind in knowing what I can expect in the months or years to come. I am so glad I stumbled across your web page; I will tell my friends about you. Again, thank you for your time and concern -- it is very much appreciated.

I have been fortunate to work with Dr. Alan Greene and Cheryl Greene. I have also been fortunate to meet their children and be able to get to know them as both professionals and parents. I can personally vouch for the integrity of DrGreene.com and its content. The Greene's goal and mission for their site has always put children and their health first. Their personal integrity is unquestionable and their chartable hearts touch all who know them. Dr. Greene and Cheryl Greene have spent many hours of their time going above and beyond the task of generating a web site for children's health. They have both generously given of their time and talents to help those parents who so desperately needed answers or support. DrGreene.com has always been first and foremost a labor of love.
