I Love You the Purplest,
by Barbara M. Joosse
Recommended by: Genie Bunch, California
-- It's been a godsend to me! First, it's helped me to understand what a spirited child is, and second, that I have one, and that I am one. Best of all, it's helped me to better interact with my daughter, leading to fewer battles, a better-behaved child, and all-around family harmony. The bonus is that my daughter and I are beginning to enjoy one another again, and I'm hoping that this will lead to my non-verbal daughter gaining the courage to want to learn to talk more.

Sam and the Firefly,
by Philip D. Eastman
Recommended by: Genie Bunch, California
-- After checking this book out of the library for a month straight, we figured it was time to invest in a copy for ourselves. A favorite of my oldest son this book tells the tale of a mischievous firefly who learns his lesson after playing tricks on everyone. It also tells of true friendship when, Sam, the owl risks it all to save his friend.
