My wife Michelle and I would just like to thank Dr. Greene for the invaluable resource he has created. We had our son Nolan while I was working in Amsterdam, and the site provided us so much information and guidance that we just couldn't receive the same way as expats in a foreign land. Over Nolan's first two years, we've consulted various books for insight into sleep issues, feeding, developmental stages, etc, but it's always been this site that has acted as the final arbiter. Today we consulted a number of sources about nightmares and night terrors, and yet again it was Dr. Greene's site that educated us about the differences, and led us to a confident feeling that Nolan's suffering from confusional arousals. Thanks very much for this living example of your obvious love of children.

Just want to say how helpful your website is. We have our 3 year old niece visiting and she woke us up screaming for 10 minutes the other night. I was really scared. My mother, who was in town, said it had happened before. But I looked it up online, and found out that it was night terrors and her attempt at nighttime dryness. She's 3 and still wears pull-ups to bed. Last night I made my sister and her husband try the "Greene technique". We put her on the toilet while she was asleep, and it worked. She went to the bathroom and slept the whole night, no screaming. So thanks so much.

I went in search of articles about how to get your toddler to bed without the stalling and power struggle. I came across your article about how to stop bedtime battles which suggested giving your toddler a free pass. We tried it and it has changed out evenings completely! No more 45-60 minute routines with excuses ranging from needing water to being scared of her closet. Now she takes her "Hall Pass" as we call it and goes right down. Invariably we see her within 10 minutes of going down. She happily pops out and presents her hall pass. We hug her and make a big deal of it, tuck her back in nicely and never hear from her again until morning! Thank you so much for the simple, but effective idea!

I would just like to say thank you for your 'clingy children ' article. My 21 month old daughter has become really clingy to her father and only he can comfort her. I thought i was doing something dreadfully wrong till i read this article. It states that this a natural phase babies go through. There is no reference of this in any other book or articles i have read. Thanks again. I feel much better.

I am 30 weeks pregnant with our first child. I also have a copy of your book - From First Kicks to First Steps - and would like to thank you personally as it has been a great source of encouragement and inspiration. Whenever I feel a little overwhelmed, I simply read a few chapters and somehow my confidence is restored through having knowledge and a better understanding of what's happening to me and to my baby. We live out of the city so there aren't many options available to me such as prenatal classes and doulas, but you highlight all the important issues that I need to research before the birth and still after it as well. Once again, many thanks.

I am in school for pediatric nursing, and I wanted to let you know that I find your web page extremely helpful. It is always the first sight I go to for information. I also have my school buddies talking all the time about going to Dr. Greene. I want to thank you for all the helpful and most up to date info you have.

Thank you so much for this website. As a pediatric nurse practitioner working for the San Antonio School District, I use your information to help with the educational needs of my school children clients and their families. I also use the site to address informational/educational needs for my practice. It is a wonderful site and so helpful in my day to day work. This is a calling for you. Thank you so much for the work you do!!!!!

Thank you so much, for an outstanding and informative website. Your site has, for several years now, been an invaluable "go-to" for every health question I've had with my children. I love the way your site captures both the thoroughness that is necessary for any parent seeking answers to health questions, and the caring nature that is essential to understanding the real needs of our children.

I just want to say that the information given about trisomy 13 was wonderful. I lost 2 of my newborns to this genetic disease and there was really no information about it (or at least enough information) for me to understand how and why 2 children in the same family could have died from it. The doctors just said, "This is rare and don't have any more children" Well just to let everyone know ---YES it may be rare but....We have three healthy and beautiful children since. Good Luck...and thanks again for the information.

My granddaughter had a small section of her middle lob of her right lung removed in November 2004 because of a bacterial infection. Today she was told she had walking pneumonia. I went web surfing and found your wonderful site. Thanks for your great language that a normal person can understand.

I appreciated the article "SIDS, the Family Bed, & The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission". I feel the same way about children sleeping with parents. It is different for each family and it works great for us. I always hated it when people would frown upon my Husband and I for allowing our son to sleep in our bed. I too have wondered why some people blamed SIDS on sleeping with parents, when the majority of SIDS cases were not in a parent’s bed. It seems like someone is hiding something and not adequately researching all the possible causes. I just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed the article.

Thank you so much for your site! I have 2 children - a girl, 3, and a boy 18mos. Just when I thought I was a mom expert, my son started banging his head (hard) on the floor and pulling his hair when he was told no. In a panic, I called our Dr., who of course I will hear from in a week or so ... So I did a search on the web for "head banging" and found your site. It is wonderful! Not only did it calm me down about my son, but I am sorry I didn't find it 3 years ago. It is now on my favorites list! Thanks!!!

If you have found this site - BOOKMARK IT NOW!! This is the best collection of readable health information I've ever found. As a registered nurse, I'll be referring everyone I can to this site. A true "Dr. Spock" for the new millennium...

This is the website I have been looking for! Finally a team of medical professionals who believe in organic eating and who dish out medical information that is understandable yet not condescending. Thanks so much for the article on mycoplasm infection in children. After reading the article I felt great about my pediatrician catching it and will let her know how much I appreciate her expertise. My only problem now is how to create time to get to some of the other articles you have posted! Kudos to Dr. Greene and company for such a wonderful resource.

We live in Puerto Rico and when our grandson was born 14 months ago his newborn screening test had to be taken again five weeks later. We were all worried sick. My daughter and I went on line and found Dr.Greene and chatted... he answered so many questions and put our minds at ease. Everyone in the chat was a big help. They all gave us info and peace while we waited. Everything was fine but the waiting and not knowing would have been so much harder without the info we got at his site. We check it all the time. It seems like you always have questions and concerns after hours or long weekends... Dr.Greenes always open.
Thank you! Carol & Nicole

I must say I have NO clue how I got into this website...but thank GOD! It is such an awesome site...nothing is better then talking with a real, live doctor! Dr. Greene takes the time to talk with each person and answer every question. I put him on "the spot" and presented my question in this manner...If this were YOUR child? What would YOU do? And he answered me SO honestly, I was FLOORED! He doesn't hide behind "in general questions" He answers YOUR question, he may say...Melissa look this up and read about what I have already researched, if you have any other questions I'll be right here to answer them! AWESOME! I don't even get that much time with my peditrican I pay $80 to see for 5 minutes!Dr. Greene, you rock! Thank-You for loving your job and loving kids enough to care for their parents when they need all the answers!
Melissa

I'm a mother of a 14 month old. I've been perusing your website since she was 3 months old. I just want to thank you for making such informative, easy to understand informations available to parents. I've recommended this site to all my friends with kids. Yours is the most comprehensive and reliable site I've read on the web. Thank you for making it available and for keeping it updated.

What impresses me the most about DrGreene.com is the compassion and empathy that Dr. Greene shows in his responses to the questions of both hurting parents and grandparents or to those who are just seeking information about routine problems. Along with the compassion, it is quite obvious that he is extremely knowledgeable and wise....and that combination is what sets the hearts and minds of his patients at ease. Five years ago, we lost a grandchild who was born with many complications and lived for only 6 days. Dr. Greene's caring attitude and gentle approach in explaining the problems to us touched our hearts, and made it so much easier to bear. My husband and I have been using DrGreene.com for many years now, and have compared it with other sites. DrGreene.com is the absolute BEST! I heartily recommend it to everyone.

Dr. Alan Greene and his wife Cheryl have carefully built an outstanding website based on a committment to providing easily understood, up-to-date, science-based information and advice that every parent can rely on for help as they manage the awesome task of ministering to the daily needs of their children. Through their total dedication to this cause, and their unusual compassion for children and the difficult challenges faced by their parents they have placed on the DrGreene.com website more than 1500 pages of free medical information. What a treasure! In addition, Dr. Greene offers a live chat every day to answer specific questions. Simply put, DrGreene.com is a MUST bookmark for every parent or grandparent!

Not only is this a beautifully designed site, but it is full of the most valuable parenting content you will find on the web. DrGreene.com is an amazing resource for parents. From the "daily dose" on the home page to the 56 original content articles you'll find on ear infections (as just one example), Dr.Greene covers a wide breadth of topics with unprecedented depth and credibility. Parents can read Feature Articles, Updates, FAQs, Guidelines and Fast Facts at their leisure or participate more actively in the regularly-scheduled online chats. Just take a look for yourself... http://www.drgreene.com

Almost five years ago, I searched the internet for help with my son's ongoing medical issues. After months of research I stumbled upon DrGreene's website. I was thrilled with his western/natural approach to healthcare and could feel a compassion towards children I was unable to find in the myriad of specialists I came across in our path of his ongoing health issues. I ordered his book (my very first internet purchase!), I chatted with him during this chat sessions (again my first internet chat!). Dr. Greene's gave me valuable feedback in interacting with my son's doctors, he listened, he *truly* cared. He restored my faith in medical compassion in an era of HMO "take a number" approach to healthcare. I learned so many valuable lessons from Dr. Greene. He showed the uncertain mother how to be the best parent I can be. He helped me understand and hone that mother's instinct. He taught me to be an informed and responsible healthcare consumer. And most importantly, he allowed me to be an advocate for children's health care rights. One can look back and pinpoint many important paths along one's life, but I can honestly say that the day I logged into DrGreene's site, the promise of the Internet -- for me -- became a reality. Thank you both for all you do. Regardless of the "Webby" award bestowed upon the best of the best, your site will always remain "the best of the best" for Jake and I.
Thank you! Cindy Paiva

I just wanted to comment on Dr. Greene - HE IS AWESOME! Dr. Greene's site has given me information and advice in helping with any issues that I have had regarding my two children (as individuals and together). His site carries information that I have had a hard time finding anywhere else. When addressing your concerns, his "at ease" and "down to earth" personality really helps! If you haven't been to his website...go there and bookmark it!! It is a must see for ALL parents! THANKS DR. GREENE FOR ALL YOU DO!!
Cindy Navin

I'd just like to comment on how my son and I owe his life to Dr. Greene. While struggling here in Canada to find out what his problem was, Dr. Greene gave me all the direction and encouragement to carry on. Our doctors were running around in circles as my son had unusual symptoms. He hasn't read the books of what he should have...lol..Anyway, I'd like to thank Dr. Greene and Ms. Greene and their wonderful site full of helpful friends for lots of caring and loving support. It is amazing how this doc, so far away, can see through my son's symptoms when our docs couldn't. DrGreene.com is a very informative site. I couldn't have solved my son's immune deficiancy without it and all the great people. Thanks.

What A WONDERFUL site! Ever since the first time I stumbled upon it I have been hooked. Everything from the chat's to the discussion are fantastic. I have gotten great advice from Dr Greene and made many friends! This site is beneficial for everyone who has kids/grandkids, or even knows someone who does! I couldn't live in cyberspace without it!!!!!

DrGreene.com is a valuable tool to have for parents with children of any age. Dr. Greene is extremely helpful in all areas of medicine and very knowledgeable as well as devoted to all children. He has helped me with some of the simplest of situations, to some of the most unexplainable and horrible traumas known to mankind. I feel that I can trust him with anything that life has to offer, and I am proud to use him as my doctor/therapist at anytime. Keep up the great work Dr. Greene!

If you are a parent, this site is a must. The articles are well written and easy to understand. The addition of the chat room and discussion boards make this site well rounded. I have attended some of Dr. Greene's chats and this man is so caring it is amazing. He took the time to answer all of my questions, never once complaining that my question was to long. The casual atmosphere and the wonderful people made me feel right at home and at ease. A well rounded site that deserves recognition!
Angie Swan

I just wanted to comment on the article that you have written entitled, "Is the Family Bed Deadly?" This is a fantastic article. It is too bad that parents DO NOT get ALL the information when an organization wants to give their opinion of what is safe for you and your kids, as opposed to what is not. I have 2 boys ages 2 1/2yrs and 14 wks.
Cindy

I am a mother of six. 3 boys, 3 girls. Today we celebrate 7 years since the birth of our 6th child, 3rd boy, John. He was born with trisomy 13. I was searching the web this morning for information on trisomy 13 and your reply to Melissa came up. Thank you for understanding and for putting my feelings so beautifully into words. Our baby lived just 30 minutes and during that short time he was held by all his siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents and his father and me. It was a lifetime in half an hour. He still touches our lives daily.
Carol

At this time, Dr. Greene, I don't have a question. I would just like to commend you on the great work you are doing by making this web site available to the general public. There's a lot of information out there, and I think the general public is faced with the difficult task of sorting out fact from myth. I am a pediatrician myself, just 11 months out of residency and in a group practice in New Jersey. I love my work, and I love working with children. I read your publications and have found them to be very informative. I would certainly recommend this web page to my patients.

Dear Dr. Greene, I recently came upon your web site and have enjoyed reading it very much. I am a pediatrician in Kingsport, TN, and I have been writing a weekly column in our local newspaper for about 2 years. I would like to use some of your wonderful quotes and portions of your questions & answers in my future columns if at all possible. Thanks again for a very interesting web site.

Dr. Greene, Thanks for taking the time to put this web site together. My husband is in charge of internet development for on-line banking at Wells Fargo, and I am a software engineer, so we spend a lot of time on the web. This is one of the best sites I've ever surfed! It is obvious you're reaching out to a lot of people in a very positive way.

Dear Sir or Ma'am,
I am a 14 year old student in Tacoma, Washington. I have been assigned to write an essay about something I feel strongly about. I chose to write about -- teen sleep deprivation. I ask for permission to quote Dr. Greene in his response to a question about the sleep requirements of teens. May I please quote Dr. Greene for my essay? I need a quick response because it is due in 2 days. Thanks for your time.

Stumbled on to your site thru and said to myself, could that be my old student gone forward into the future? Tremendous job you are doing with your career, adapting all those great skills you learned in continuity clinic and far beyond, to the truly modern pediatrician. Great job, I say.

Hello, Dr. Greene. While I was at work on Sunday night I heard your interview on the radio station WNCI [on ear infections]. I feel that this is a very wonderful thing you are doing for parents. In this day and age people don't like to do anything for anyone else unless it benefits them as well. Your willingness to give your free time sets an example for all of us. I just want to personally thank you for being so kind and wonderful to so many people.

I admire the way Dr. Greene can explain potentially tragic situations and conditions in a very comforting and reassuring manner. I have used this site to learn about a condition (XYY Syndrome) that affects the newborn son of a good friend of mine. Thanks for the upbeat information.

As a native Northern Californian, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Dr. Greene is from my home-town area! I appreciate his approach to dealing with the often uncomfortable (or downright yucky!) issues of parenthood. A good sense of humor can make a parent feel much better about the problem! I now live in Southeast Texas, and am relatively new to this internet-thing! But with two small children, I will most definitely keep this website in my "favorites" for future reference!

Dr. Greene ... always gives such nice detailed, complete information. I'm pleased to know that there is a test for color blindness at the 4-year checkup. We have our appointment for Eric's 4-year physical in a month, and we'll look forward to that.
Julia Mee

P.S. On my way to finding the color blindness answer, I read Dr. Greene's account of his visit to his niece's grave. It was very touching and makes me eager to get home this evening after work and give my kids extra big hugs and kisses.

What a wonderful site!! I read a post regarding this site at another site, called "Storksite." A user there had invited us to read your perspective on colic . So, while here, I took a peek around, and I must say that this is a truly a nice place to see on the web! I am glad you have created such a place to gain such insight & knowledge. Sincerely,

At this point we're on a fact finding mission [regarding our daughter's JRA]. No one likes to think of their little one with a debilitating illness, but our research has actually reassured us somewhat. Thanks again for the data. I was pleased that I did not need a medical degree to understand the article. Kudos to Dr. Greene! :)

Dr. Greene's HouseCalls have been a great help to me. Just finding out a little more about things I have questions about is informative and helpful to me with a 6-year-old, a 10-month-old, and a baby on the way. The information on ear infections has answered lots of questions and eased concerns.
