Around the world, someone' s young child is killed with a loaded gun every few minutes. This is one of the leading causes of death in children. The problem is worst in countries like the United States where firearms are readily available. About half of US homes contain firearms, and one in four gun owners keep their guns loaded and easily accessible. The safest choice is not to have a gun in the home. If you keep one, empty it out and lock it up (where you can get to it and children can't)! Even if you don' t own a gun, teach your children to steer clear of guns at friends' homes, or wherever they come across them. Bang.
